 This early set of Argentinian notes dated from the early 1970's and was in use until around 1983. The set has seven notes with denominations of 1, 5, 10, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 Pesos. All of the notes are in uncirculated condition. Pick catalogue references: 287, 294, 295, 301 to 304. Reference: ARGENTINA 001 Price: £6.00  In 1983, as part of measures to cope with runaway inflation, the Argentina Government remonetized the currency and introduced the 'Peso Argentino'. The currency was not stabilised and the Peso Argentino lasted barely two years before further changes had to be made. This selection of five notes from the series comprises 1, 5, 10, 50 and 500 Pesos Argentinos. They are all in UNC condition. Pick catalogue references 311 to 314 and 316. Reference: ARGENTINA 002 Price: £3.50  The Austral replaced the Peso Argentino in 1985. In the ensuing years inflation was slowly brought under control and the Austral series of banknotes lasted until 1991, although values did reach as high as 500,000 Australes.
