 The republic of Bosnia & Herzegovina declared its independence from Yugoslavia in April 1992. The first provisional banknotes to be issued in that same year were Yugoslavian notes of 500 and 1000 Dinara, overstamped with a handstamp on the right hand side. The use of these notes was very short lived as they were quickly replaced by a more permanent issue in July of the same year. As a result of this they are reasonably scarce, carry a high catalogue value and are difficult to find in good condition. The notes we are offering have seen very little use and are in VF+ (good Very Fine) condition. Reference: BOSNIA 001 Price: £25.00 per pair.  The rubber stamped Yugoslavian notes which circulated for just a few weeks following independence were quicky replaced by a more permanent series of 6 notes dated 1st. July 1992. The values were 10, 25, 50, 100, 500 and 1000 Dinara. The notes were hurriedly prepared and quite simple in design, and because of the high inflation at the time had to be quickly replaced by higher denominations. These notes are all in uncirculated condition. Reference: BOSNIA 002 Price: £8.00  Towards the end of 1993, with inflation raging in Bosnia, there was an urgent need for higher denomination banknotes. Old notes of 25, 50 and 100 Dinara were overprinted with new values of 1 million, 10 million and 100 million Dinara, and the date 10.XI.1993. These notes were very short lived. In 1994 there was a currency reform when 10,000 of the old Dinara became 1 New Dinar and a further series of notes was issued. These notes are all in uncirculated condition.
