![]() A modern trio of notes from Chile with a surprising variety of design. The style of the 1000 and 5000 Pesos, which are dated 2005, dates back over 25 years to around 1980, whereas the 2000 Pesos, dated 2004, has a more modern look and is made of polymer with a clear, see-through window on the left side. (Our illustration shows both the obverse and reverse of the 2000 Pesos.) These notes are in uncirculated condition. Reference: CHILE 001 Price: £26.00 per set. ![]() By contrast, here is an older pair of notes from Chile which date from the late 1950’s. Years earlier in 1925, when the Banco Central de Chile assumed resposibility for the issue of banknotes, it was decided to change the name of the currency from Peso to Condor. The Peso was never never dropped and until 1960 both currency names were used on the notes at the rate of 10 Pesos = 1 Condor. The two notes we are offering are the: 5 Pesos = ½ Condor, and 10 Pesos = 1 Condor. They are both in mint condition. Reference: CHILE 002 Price: £2.80 per pair.
