BANKNOTES FROM CZECHOSLOVAKIA

CZECHOSLOVAKIAN BANKNOTES FROM THE COMMUNIST ERA
Czechoslovakia 001

In the early 1950's Czechoslovakia was a Communist State - a "people's republic" - very much under the Russian sphere of influence. This austerity is reflected in the style of paper money in use at the time.

These three notes of 25, 50 and 100 Korun are dated 1953 with designs featuring statuary and peasant workers. There are panoramas of Czechoslovakian towns on the reverse.

Catalogue references are P84, P85 and P86; all are in UNC condition.
Reference: CZECHOSLOVAKIA 001.
Price £18.50

THE END OF COMMUNISM IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA
Czechoslovakia 002

By the mid 1980's dissent against the Communist Government was beginning to grow and in fact the regime would be overthrown before the end of the decade. The paper money of the time had changed to a much more flamboyant style as can be seen in this set of four notes dated between 1986 and 1989. As is often the case, famous historical figures are shown on the front with colourful town and country scenes on the reverse.

Catalogue references P94 to P97; all are in UNC condition.
Reference: CZECHOSLOVAKIA 002.
Price £14.00
