 This is a lovely set of notes from The State of Eritrea, a former Ethiopian province fronting on the red sea. The notes are all dated 24.5.1997 which is the day when Eritrea proclaimed it's independence as a Republic. The notes were designed by Clarence Holbert and portray attractive pictures of the children and people of Eritrea in typical clothing and head wear. The set comprises:- Pick ref. 1, 1 Nakfa, 1997.
