 Saddam Hussein ruled over Iraq for over 20 years. He became President in 1979 and was overthrown by the coalition forces led by the USA in 2003. Most of the notes which bear his portrait appeared in the later years and are cheaply printed because of the sanctions which were in place at the time. The earliest of the notes offered here (bottom left in the picture) is the 25 Dinars dated 1986 and shows Saddam in military uniform. The other notes are the 10, 50, 100 and 250 Dinars dated 1992 to 1995; and the 25, 100 and 250 Dinars dated 2001 to 2002. All 8 notes in this selection are in uncirculated condition.
