MONGOLIAN NOTES FROM THE 1950’s AND 1960’s

MONGOLIA 001

Here is a selection of five notes which were used in Mongolia during the 1950’s and 1960’s. The larger 1 Tugrik note dates from 1955, whilst the four smaller notes – 5, 10, 25 and 50 Tugrik are dated 1966. The notes all show a portrait of Sukhe-Bator, a Mongolian war hero who was instrumental in the formation of the Mongolian People’s Party in the early 1920’s.
