![]() In 1941, during WWII, the Japanese occupied parts of the Philippines, including the capital, Manila. Other more remote parts remained free, and to finance the free civil governments and the guerrilla forces, President Quezon set up provincial Currency Committees which were authorised to print emergency banknote issues. This set of three banknotes comprises 2, 5 and 10 Pesos which were issued on the 20th January 1942 in the island of Negros. We can offer this set of notes in mint condition, which is unusual because most of the printed currency was used locally at the time. Pick ref. S-647B, 2 Pesos. Pick ref. S-648, 5 Pesos. Pick ref. S-649, 10 Pesos. Reference: PHILIPPINES 001. Price £9.80
