This set of attractive Scottish £1 notes all commemorate a famous Scotsman or an important event in recent Scottish history:
8th December 1992, prefix EC - The European Summit in Edinburgh in December 1992.
3rd December 1994, prefix RLS - Commemorates the life of Robert Louis Stevenson, 1850-1894.
3rd March 1997, prefix AGB - Commemorates the life of Alexander Graham Bell, 1847-1922.
12th May 1999, prefix SP - Commemorating the first meeting of the Scottish Parliament.

The notes are all in mint, uncirculated condition.

THE BANK OF SCOTLAND

The Bank of Scotland was founded in 1695 and is Scotland's oldest bank, being just a year younger than the Bank of England. It has absorbed many other Scottish banks during it's long history.
The two notes in this set both date from 1988, and feature the Bank's Arms at the centre and a portrait of Sir Walter Scott to the right.

These notes are in crisp, UNC condition.
