 The Southeast Asian country of Burma (now called Myanmar) was occupied by the Japanese in 1942 and this set of notes was issued by the Japanese government during that period. The set comprises:- Pick ref. 13b, 1/2 Rupee, 1942. Pick ref. 14b, 1 Rupee, 1942. Pick ref. 15b, 5 Rupees, 1942-44. Pick ref. 16b, 10 Rupees, 1942-44. The notes are all in uncirculated condition. Reference: BURMA 001. Price £4.80  This attractive and colourful selection of notes from Burma make a great addition to any collection. Issued by The Union Bank of Burma in 1958, these notes were produced in stapled blocks of 100, so unavoidably have staple holes in the left hand side. The set comprises:- Pick ref. 46a, 1 Kyat, 1958. Pick ref. 47a, 5 Kyats, 1958. Pick ref. 48a, 10 Kyats, 1958. Pick ref. 51a, 100 Kyats, 1958. The notes are all in uncirculated condition. Reference: BURMA 002. Price £8.50  We are pleased to offer this set of 5 notes from the central african Republic of Burundi. Although the notes are all modern, they are strikingly different in design. The 10 and 20 franc notes are dated 05.02.2005, the 50 franc note is dated 01.05.2006, and the 100 and 500 franc notes are dated 1.10.2007. They are all in uncirculated condition. Reference: BURUNDI 001. Price £6.50  In 1917, following the revolution, the provisional central Government in Russia issued a series of three notes - these being for 5, 250 and 1000 Roubles. The 5 Roubles used the same plates as the earlier Tsarist issue dated 1909 but had just series numbers rather than a full serial number. The higher denominations of 250 and 1000 Roubles were of a new design. The notes were quickly replaced in 1918 by a new series of State Treasury notes and were soon withdrawn from circulation.
